Biographies
For each player, the biography for their character is the first place other players will look to learn about your character, how they might react to certain scenarios as well as other basic to detailed information about the character. Exercise your creativity but keep it reasonable.

This helps tremendously when writing and when trying to determine how to the Simm will progress on the individual player basis.

I'd like to see the following sections in each player's biographies:

1 - Civilian Life before Starfleet Academy.

Write more than just, born here, loved Starfleet and began the Academy. Give it some depth, family history and drama if you can. 2 - Starfleet Academy.

Go into some details about what your character studied, what he excelled in. You don't have to make him/her the best at everything, make them flawed if you, it creates deeper character development in the future. Include a Cadet Cruise, just stay away from well-known ships. Create your own. 3 - Active Duty.

If you're a lower ranking Officer or Enlisted, you've got an easy job, just give a little service. Those higher ranking Officer's and Enslited, it's a bit trickier. Just take a few things into account. a - No one gets promoted after one year, only during Extremely extenuating circumstances. So don't move yourself from Ensign to Commander in 4 years. It's not happenning. b - Add some events. Like transfers, promotions and if your characters old enough, some famous battles.

Rank Images

To insert a rank image, which are located on the Victorious server, use the following code:

< img src="http://uss-victorious.net/images/ranks/default/Starfleet/r-o4.png" >

The space after the first "<" and before the last ">" should be removed prior to posting.

The last part (ie: r-c0) is the part that needs to be changed for each rank. Leave (.png) alone or it won't work.

The initial letter (r) defines the color code of the rank. The codes are as follows:

r=Red(Command/Flight Control)
y=Yellow(Engineering/Security/Tactical)
t=Teal(Science/Medical/Counseling)
w=White(Civilian)
s=Silver(Intelligence)
v=Violet(Diplomatic)
c=Blue(Fighter Squadrons)
g=Green(Marines)

The second part is the rank (c0). The various codes and ranks are as follows:

Officer:
o1 - Ensign
o2 - Lieutenant JG
o3 - Lieutenant
o4 - Lieutenant Commander
o5 - Commander
o6 - Captain

Enlisted:
e1 - Crewman 3rd Class
e2 - Crewman 2nd Class
e3 - Crewman 1st Class
e4 - Petty Officer 3rd Class
e5 - Petty Officer 2nd Class
e6 - Petty Officer 1st Class
e7 - Chief Petty Officer
e8 - Senior Chief Petty Officer
e9 - Master Chief Petty Officer

Cadet:
c0 - Enrolled Cadet
c1 - 1st Year Cadet
c2 - 2nd Year Cadet
c3 - 3rd Year Cadet
c4 - 4th Year Cadet

Thus, using the code above for a Fighter Pilot (c), ranked as a Lieutenant Commander (o4) the code is as follows:

< img src="http://uss-victorious.net/images/ranks/default/Starfleet/c-o4.png" >

Note: Marine Ranks reside in a separate file in the ranks folder called Marine. And this is what you would see:
